A very nice Colombian coffee, balanced and delicious. This is nothing unusual for Moustache coffees, however. An old friend--from Portland-- who was visiting me when I broke open this shipment told me that my coffee was the most delicious 'home brew' that he had ever tasted. I gave him the info about Moustache, and I'll bet that he will soon become a new customer. If you love single origin coffee, drink mostly at home, and are willing to grind and brew your beans on a daily basis, for freshness, flavor, and price, Moustache coffees are just about unbeatable.

This is quite an exciting companion to the Colombian washed I had last week. The characteristic aspects of good washed beans are there, though I found the nose of the whole or ground beans a bit strange. The mouthfeel is the most obviously distinct piece: The coffee seems to both leap to and cling to the tongue. There's no hint of syruppiness, though: The sweetness is caramel and comes very late. Acidity is prominent but doesn't hint at any particular fruit. There are subtle tea-like qualities as well.
