Sul de Minas, Brazil
Variety: Catuai, Mondo Novo
Processing: Natural
Origin: Sul de Minas, Brazil
Producers: Augusto Borges Ferreira
Altitude: 1300m
Farm Size: 7 Hectares
Capadocia is a farm in Sul de Minas, Brazil owned and operated by Augusto Ferreira & his wife Patricia. I (Sean) had the pleasure of visiting with them when I visited Brazil in 2019 (back in the pre-covid era), you can read more about it here . They are both under 30, but with 4 generations of coffee-producing heritage at their disposal - their relatively young farm is putting out some stellar coffees. They produce mainly red and yellow Catuai - and process everything on their farm naturally, drying the coffees on concrete patios and raised beds in partial shade.
Most naturals are notable for their more intense flavors, but this particular lot gives us a richer, smoother profile with a solid chocolatey base. We're picking up on a coconut-like creaminess and some nutty, almond-like tones that make for a smooth sipping cup of coffee. We're really impressed by the Ferreira's quality output for such young producers, and we wish them more success in future harvests!

I thoroughly enjoyed these. I could taste all the notes as described with very little bite at the end. Delicious.

I think this is my favorite coffee from MCC. I love to smell it before I grind, then after I grind, and finally breathe in the aromatic brew in my cup. There is a nice chocolate and subtle coconut flavors. Looking forward to my next cup!

Flavors all came through well - even just using my Keurig. Smooth flavor, not bitter. Really enjoyed this one.

This is my first “classic” roast from Moustache and I really liked it. I have been brewing in a French press and it makes a very easy sipping light/medium cup. I did up the amount of grounds to get a richer flavor. Very smooth and mellow. Not bright or fruity like some of the other roasts.

I’ve been drinking this coffee from Moustache Coffee Club all week and I have to say, it might be the best coffee I’ve ever had. So smooth (not bitter in the slightest), a little nutty, with hints of coconut. I sound like an advertisement, but I’m really here to mourn that it was the last of the beans this morning. Here’s to getting addicted to rotating coffees.
