Borena Tore
Variety: Mixed Heirloom
Processing: Washed
Crop Year: 2016
Origin: Yirgacheffe, Ethiopia
Producer: Tore Washing Station
Altitude: 1650-1700m
This coffee was grown in the famous Yirgacheffe region, where delicious, surprising flavors continue to multiply with each crop. These heirloom beans were prepared with the utmost care, and the quality really comes through in the flavors! Many Ethiopian coffees have black tea notes, but these Yirgacheffe beans come on strong with a particularly earthy black tea flavor, and a tannic quality reminiscent of a rich wine. Initially a weighty coffee, watch for a lift with this coffee's sweet nectarine finish that helps balance the cup. From the moment we tested these beans, we knew they were special and we hope you have as much fun drinking them as we did picking them out!

Just a hint of sweetness and a decent amount of complexity.

This is an excellent coffee. We brewed as espresso, and pourover. Rich, perfectly roasted, very buttery in a latte. Excellent. I would take this one every week, honestly. Thanks

I really enjoyed this coffee!! I brought it camping and made a beehouse pour-over straight from the fire. Also, I made an iced japanese chemex pour-over at home, which was outstanding!! For an ethiopian, it was very full-bodied, with a lot of depth and sweetness, and very mild to almost no acidity. I love this coffee!

This coffee was just incredible! The perfect balance of sweet, complexity and a hint of spice at the end that left me and my wife wanting more. We'd love to see you revisit this grower/region to see what else they have to offer. Top 2 out of the 100+ coffees you've sent to us!

I have been a member since 2014 and this one was one of the best I have had. Love the flavor and complexity this had.

Made this many times with Japanese iced coffee and got strong notes of black tea with a bit of citrusy brightness in those glasses. Really smooth and refreshing.

This is a great coffee. Very balanced with a not too sweet, not too strong flavor. A great compromise for the coffee drinkers in my house. Brewed as a pour-over and it was very forgiving from the very first brew. I'll be savoring each cup.

Same as the first time this was sent out. Don't let the tea notes run you off. They are awesome.
