This coffee was grown and processed by Florencio Villatoro in Huehuetenango, Guatemala. The Villatoros are legends among the Guatemalan specialty coffee community, with his brothers Pedro, Aurelio, Juan, and Julian all managing land and producing coffees with a wide variety of flavors. The unifying characteristic of coffee grown by the Villatoros is how delicious it is! Coffee has always been a family affair for the Villatoros, and Florencia got his start at 14 in his father's coffee plant nursery - tending young plants. Now Florencio has his own farm, producing mostly Bourbon and Caturra beans, which are patio dried on-site after processing.
This is a wonderfully smooth and calm coffee, with warm notes of brown sugar and chocolate taking the majority of the flavor profile. There's a small amount of orange-like acidity - not too sharp but providing a hint of fruitiness and sweetness. Coffees from Huehue can range quite a bit from bright in terms of flavor - and we really enjoy that this lot from Florencio is on the smoother end. If you're looking for an easy-drinking coffee that pairs well with any activity - El Diamante is the brew for you!

This is a fantastic coffee for lovers of luscious, well-balanced, full-bodied brews. This coffee has it all - sugary burst throughout, a tinge of citric acid in the middle, and a thick roasted flavor to end. Excellent bean.
